Widely regarded by Sunni Muslims as the most authentic hadith collection after the Qur’an.
Al-Bukhari spent roughly sixteen years collecting and verifying narrations for this collection, examining an enormous number of reports and including only those that met his strict criteria for an unbroken, trustworthy chain of narrators (isnad). It is one of the two "Sahih" ("authentic") collections, alongside Sahih Muslim, collectively known as al-Sahihayn.
